In Donato's premier solo show at the Richard J. Demato Gallery, he will present his first themed exhibit with nearly a dozen new paintings created around the imagery of oceans and shorelines. Water: A Parallel Universe explores the relationships of nature, humanity and the inner world. The Oceans are the largest unexplored territory of our planet. Untamable, mysterious and necessary to our survival, they represent an entire universe of symbolism, discovery, unmapped worlds and inspiration.

"I have long been fascinated by seascapes and the transitional space between earth and water. For me, the shoreline represents a place of extreme danger but also the beginning of voyages and birth. The ocean is a place of immese scale, acutely reminding us of our own diminutive size."
